About the role#

Elk Valley Resources is seeking a Recruitment Co-op student to join the Coal Division for an 8 or 12-month term starting in September 2026. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in human resources within the mining industry, working with seasoned specialists to support recruitment for mine operations and maintenance teams.

What you'll do#

• Participate in and adhere to all health and safety programs and policies.
• Support the recruitment process for hourly positions, including sorting applications, conducting pre-screens, and scheduling interviews.
• Assist with pre-employment requirements such as reference checks, drug testing, and the preparation of offer letters.
• Support the onboarding process and assist with career fairs and information sessions.
• Collaborate on research and report writing for the Human Resources department.
• Contribute to the application of HR policies and procedures and explore ideas to improve business processes.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Ability to prioritize work under pressure with high attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• A motivated, self-starting attitude.

• Location: Sparwood, British Columbia, Canada.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Commitment: Full-time.
• Compensation: $4,117 - $5,192 CAD per month, commensurate with academic progress and prior co-op experience.
