September 2026 HRIS Co-op

About the role#

Elk Valley Resources is seeking a Co-op student for the HRIS team to support core human resources systems and data infrastructure. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta, for the Fall 2026 term, with a duration of 8 or 12 months. This is a full-time, paid position.

What you'll do#

• Maintain and support core HR systems to ensure the application of HR policies and programs.
• Investigate and troubleshoot data and system issues in coordination with end-users, IT, and external vendors.
• Perform data audits to ensure data integrity.
• Provide project support for HRIS initiatives, including data migration and transformation.
• Assist with the development of project dashboards and reports, including testing coordination.
• Create and evaluate ideas to improve business processes and technology usage.
• Adhere to all health and safety programs and policies.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business (with a concentration in HR or Management Information Systems) or Computer Science.
• Proficiency in Power BI and Power Apps.
• A strong interest in data analysis, critical thinking, and translating data into actionable insights.
• Experience or interest in building pragmatic solutions to improve business processes.
• Strong planning, organization, and communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information in compliance with privacy laws.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capacity to learn new technologies and platforms quickly and accurately.
