About the role#
EMPath is looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our People & Culture team. This internship provides exposure to the full range of HR functions, including recruitment, learning and development, employee engagement, and benefits administration. You will work alongside our team on daily operations and specific projects, gaining hands-on experience in how a department supports organizational growth and shapes the employee experience.
What you'll do#
- Support recruitment by reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and maintaining tracking records.
- Manage job postings on various boards.
- Assist with onboarding logistics and keep orientation materials current.
- Coordinate the organization-wide training schedule and support training logistics.
- Maintain the Culture Amp system, including performance management and survey administration.
- Participate in employee committee meetings and coordinate engagement activities.
- Create and distribute monthly employee wellness communications.
- Update the EMPath Employee Benefits Guide and organize internal HR resources and forms.
- Assist with day-to-day operations, including maintaining employee records and data reporting.
- Research HR tools and participate in projects to improve internal processes.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort learning new technology platforms.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Interest in human resources, organizational development, or nonprofit management.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to work.
- Experience with HR systems or databases is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- This is a part-time, unpaid internship requiring approximately 15 hours per week.
- The term runs from January 2027 to May 2027.
- The role is hybrid, with the ability to work remotely up to half the time.
- In-person work occurs at our Brighton, MA or Boston (Fort Point) office locations.
