About the role#
EMPath is looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our People & Culture team. This role provides hands-on experience across recruitment, learning and development, employee engagement, benefits, and HR systems. You will work alongside our team on daily activities and specific projects, gaining exposure to how a department manages HR processes while shaping employee experience and organizational growth.
What you'll do#
- Assist with resume reviews, candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
- Manage job postings and maintain recruitment records.
- Support onboarding logistics and update orientation materials.
- Coordinate the organization-wide training schedule and support Culture Amp maintenance.
- Help organize employee engagement activities and participate in committee meetings.
- Create and distribute monthly employee wellness communications.
- Update the EMPath Employee Benefits Guide and review internal HR forms.
- Assist with day-to-day operations, maintain employee records, and track HR data.
- Research HR practices and participate in projects to improve internal processes.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and follow-up items.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort learning new technology platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to learn.
- An interest in human resources, organizational development, or nonprofit management.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to May).
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week.
- Modality: Hybrid. You may work remotely up to half the time, with in-person work required at our Brighton or Boston (Fort Point) locations.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
