    About the role#

    The Quality Technician Co-op assists with the inspection of purchased parts, subassemblies, and finished products. You will work alongside production management to evaluate procedures and ensure all items meet defined specifications using standard physical, mechanical, and electrical measurements. This role contributes to the organization's commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement.

    What you'll do#

    • Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from industry specifications.
    • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, laser trackers, and portable measuring arms using Pc-dmis and Polyworks software.
    • Inspect welded joints for correct dimensions, bead formation, and flaws such as cracks or undercut.
    • Collect, analyze, and summarize data to prepare reports and provide recommendations.
    • Approve incoming materials by conducting visual and measurement tests.
    • Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
    • Monitor critical equipment to ensure proper operation and calibration.
    • Support supply chain efforts to ensure raw materials and components meet quality standards.
    • Drive a 'Zero Defect' mentality throughout the organization.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary QA/QC or related program.
    • Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
    • Strong arithmetic skills and mechanical aptitude.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $26.00 per hour.
    • Employment Type: Full-time co-op (temporary).
    • Travel: Less than 10% expected.
