About the role#
The Electrical Engineering Hardware Design Co-op supports the development of electrical designs for custom automation equipment. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to design documentation, technical calculations, and equipment integration. This role is designed to build your knowledge of Eclipse standards, customer specifications, and industry safety requirements.
What you'll do#
- Create electrical designs based on project requirements and company templates.
- Perform engineering calculations, such as short-circuit current ratings and panel heat loss requirements.
- Update electrical drawings and complete redlines to maintain accurate documentation.
- Provide electrical support during equipment integration, testing, and troubleshooting phases.
- Collaborate on various custom automation projects with unique technical challenges.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong interest in automation and industrial electrical systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment layouts.
- Curiosity and initiative to learn new technical skills.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and wiring principles is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
