About the role#
As an Events Intern, you will assist Event Coordinators in planning and delivering a variety of internal and external events. This includes programmatic, business, fund development, and member-focused events held both indoors and outdoors. You will play a hands-on role in ensuring event success while gaining experience in event management.
What you'll do#
- Enter data into the EAA events system and prepare reports based on participant evaluations.
- Coordinate event logistics, including ordering supplies, conducting inventory, and managing vendor deliveries.
- Set up and take down event spaces, which includes assembling centerpieces and ensuring venue standards are met.
- Support beverage service areas to ensure they remain clean and sanitary.
- Assist with specific programs like AirVenture’s Volunteer Kitchen and Operation Thirst.
- Research prospective meeting sites and provide input on themes and speakers.
- Plan and execute small events independently.
- Meet with caterers to finalize event details and monitor activities to ensure compliance with policies and laws.
- Conduct post-event reviews to make recommendations for future improvements.
- Maintain safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma and at least 3-5 years of customer service or administrative experience.
- Current enrollment or upcoming enrollment in a secondary school program related to Event Management or a similar field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- A flexible schedule that allows for work during evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of Innfusion or similar scheduling software is a plus.
- A City of Oshkosh bartending license is preferred. EAA will provide and pay for this training.

- This position is located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
- The role requires physical activity, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, standing, and walking for extended periods during event preparation.
