About the role#
Peer Mentors provide a current-student perspective to their peers and prospective students. You will work under the Peer Mentor Coordinator and the Assistant Dean of Academic Programs and Student Affairs. This position requires approximately 10 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Attend initial training and monthly meetings with the Peer Mentor Coordinator.
- Support Center for Student Success events like FAST, New Student Orientation, and Majors Fairs.
- Lead tours of Rockwell for prospective students.
- Staff the Center for Student Success reception desk to greet students and answer questions.
- Hold drop-in hours for students seeking guidance.
- Assist with seminars and prepare materials for recruitment events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business.
- At least two semesters completed at Duquesne University.
- At least one semester of study remaining.
- A minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
