About the role#
Duquesne University offers three paid internship tracks for students interested in supporting the Make-A-Wish mission. These roles are based in Pittsburgh and operate on a rolling basis. You must qualify for federal work-study to be eligible for these positions.
What you'll do#
- Write stories about fulfilled wishes for thank you letters, newsletters, and general distribution.
- Update fundraising reports using Microsoft Excel and maintain donor records.
- Write and distribute press releases to local media.
- Create content for social media platforms and assist with community outreach programs.
- Research wish ideas and coordinate with donors and vendors via telephone.
- Assist with event planning, wish fulfillment logistics, and general office tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Duquesne University with active work-study eligibility.
- A writing sample submitted alongside your resume and cover letter.
- Strong writing skills and clear, professional communication abilities over the phone.
- Interest in marketing, communications, journalism, media studies, or business administration.
- Experience with social media, news writing, photography, or videography is helpful but not required.

- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, rolling term.
