    About the role#

    The Special Needs Trust & Beneficiary Services Intern supports the administration of trusts while contributing to projects that enhance the quality of life and independence for individuals with disabilities. This role explores the intersection of disability services, healthcare, financial administration, and nonprofit operations. You will receive training and mentorship throughout the internship, with projects tailored to your specific academic background and interests.

    What you'll do#

    • Research community resources including housing, employment, education, and social services for individuals with disabilities.
    • Develop and maintain beneficiary resource guides and educational materials.
    • Assist with the preparation for beneficiary and family meetings.
    • Identify unmet needs or questions for potential referral to professional service providers.
    • Organize trust-related documents and assist with tracking requests and distributions.
    • Document administrative workflows and standard operating procedures.
    • Create and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and tracking tools to support operations.
    • Complete a substantive capstone research project addressing an organizational need.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate student.
    • Interest in psychology, public health, health administration, sociology, or business fields.
    • Professionalism and a high level of attention to detail.
    • No prior experience with special needs trusts is required.
