About the role#
As an Integrated Circuits Intern in the Silicon Architecture group, you will contribute to the design of integrated circuits throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes conceptual phases, detailed design, implementation, verification, testing, and final delivery. You will work alongside analog and digital circuit designers to identify trade-offs and develop efficient solutions for complex customer problems.
What you'll do#
- Design and simulate circuits using functional modeling tools and at the transistor level.
- Perform System-on-chip design trades between analog, digital hardware, and software implementations.
- Evaluate the feasibility and cost-benefit analysis of algorithm implementation in hardware versus software.
- Participate in top-level verification planning and contribute to the development of test plans.
- Conduct bench-level testing and generate reports that include plots, tables, and evaluation criteria.
- Develop design documentation such as architectural descriptions, interface definitions, and requirements.
- Implement, test, and analyze engineering solutions while providing documentation support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Cadence or equivalent integrated circuit design tools such as Virtuoso, Genus, Innovus, Tempus, or Voltus.
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency or interest in learning high-level mixed-signal modeling and verification tools like System Verilog, SV-RNM, or Verilog-AMS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or SKILL for automating design, implementation, and verification flows.
