About the role#
As a Machine Learning Intern, you will join our engineering team to help develop the infrastructure that powers our marketplace. You will work on research and development tasks that directly impact our discovery, ads, forecasting, fulfillment, and search experiences. This is a 12-week summer internship program.
What you'll do#
- Tackle new challenges in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Conduct research applicable across our engineering teams.
- Perform research in areas such as Auction, Game theory, Recommender systems, Ranking, AdTech, Computer Vision, Causal Inference, and Big data analytics.
- Contribute to and execute on research ideas to improve our product experience.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data to build relevant machine learning models.
- Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code.
- Engage in external collaborations and mentoring.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences, or a related field.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Mastery of at least one systems language, such as Java, C++, Python, Kotlin, or GoLang.
- Mastery of at least one machine learning framework, such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, or MLFlow.
- Experience in research and solving analytical problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A passion for applied machine learning and the DoorDash product.
- Ideally, experience with publications in machine learning, AI, data science, or related technical fields.
