About the role#
Dominion Energy is looking for an Instrument Technician Intern to join the team at the Bath County Power Station. You will work alongside experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience with power station operations and maintenance. This role focuses on the instrumentation used to monitor and control plant equipment, offering exposure to industrial maintenance practices in a team-oriented environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the inspection, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation.
- Support preventative maintenance activities.
- Collect and analyze technical data.
- Participate in equipment inspections.
- Help with projects related to instrumentation and control systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate's degree program in Instrumentation, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Expected graduation date in Fall 2028 or 2029.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn and apply technical concepts in an industrial setting.
- Basic analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to learn.
Location & details#
- Location: Warm Springs, Virginia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour.
- Working Conditions: Includes a mix of office work (26-50%), as well as exposure to cold, heat, and outdoor environments (up to 25% each). Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
