About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Engineering Intern position based at the Dometic facility in Pompano Beach, Florida. The role reports to the Engineering Documentation Manager and supports the team by managing product information, documentation, and technical drawings. This is an on-site, rolling internship.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and maintain product and installation drawings, including wiring schematics.
- Update layouts, assembly, and detail drawings using CAD software.
- Manage engineering part numbers and keep bills of materials up to date for new and existing products.
- Administer the Document Change Request (DCR), Records Change Request (RCR), and part specification report processes.
- Maintain and update historical documentation and drawing files to ensure proper sequence and availability.
- Interface with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to document product information.
- Work in accordance with all current ISO processes and procedures.
- Assist with other engineering documentation duties as required, including occasionally lifting 15 to 20 pounds.
What you'll need#
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus one to two years of college or trade school education in mechanical drawing or related areas.
- Relevant majors include Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Exceptional computer and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of computers and software typically used in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD schematic diagrams.
- Well-rounded, practical experience may be substituted for formal training.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Professional communication skills for interactions in person, via email, or by telephone.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
