Software Engineering AI CoOp

About the role#

This is a full-time, 6-month CoOp position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at the corporate headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts, contributing to projects that transform utility industry software products. You will be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

What you'll do#

• Ingest PDF documents into a GPT or other LLM to categorize topics, compare documents, extract key insights, and identify emerging trends.
• Analyze content data and formats to research and determine appropriate methodologies.
• Research and prepare proposals for open-source or proprietary approaches to develop models and database vectorization.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop the database and fine-tune the model.
• Create a sample implementation of a basic GPT-like agent for the documentation set.
• Prepare and deliver a presentation for management detailing the design, architecture, and implementation of your project.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree candidates preferred).
• Technical background with a strong aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly.
• Ability to research, propose, and implement design and architectural details.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Experience or coursework in AI, Machine Learning, Python, Java, JavaScript, vector databases, and cloud services is beneficial.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
