Lab Intern

About the role#

This Summer 2026 internship is based in the Insulating Materials Laboratory at the Doble Engineering corporate headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This role offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience within a professional laboratory environment.

What you'll do#

• Test insulating liquids and materials to determine physical, chemical, and electrical properties using ASTM, IEC, or internal methods.
• Prepare materials for laboratory examination.
• Perform data validation and instrument quality control.
• Adhere to laboratory safety procedures while working with a high degree of independence.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a college degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or a related scientific field.
• High school diploma.
• Prior test lab experience, either through high school or university coursework.
• Knowledge of basic chemistry and safe laboratory work habits.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
