Lab Intern

About the role#

Doble Engineering is seeking a Summer 2025 Lab Intern for the Insulating Materials Laboratory in Indianapolis. This position offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional laboratory environment by testing insulating liquids and materials.

What you'll do#

• Test insulating liquids and materials to determine physical, chemical, and electrical properties using ASTM, IEC, and internal methods.
• Prepare materials for laboratory examination and testing.
• Perform data validation and verify instrument quality control.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety procedures and protocols.
• Work under general supervision with increasing independence as training progresses.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a college degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or a related scientific field, with a high school diploma as a minimum requirement.
• Previous test lab experience, whether from high school or university settings.
• Foundational knowledge of chemistry and safe laboratory work habits.
• Strong attention to detail, high accuracy, and effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
