DigiPen Academy is seeking full-time, temporary Summer Programs Instructors to facilitate learning for high school students. This role involves representing the institution, managing classrooms, and fostering a positive educational environment. Instructors guide students through hands-on projects in video game programming, art and animation, game design, computer science, and music and sound design.
What you'll do#
- Represent DigiPen to students, parents, and peers.
- Deliver instruction using a DigiPen-approved curriculum and manage classrooms effectively.
- Mentor students as they build games, art, or audio projects.
- Guide students on how to work in small teams and collaborate.
- Engage students in learning activities.
- Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to maintain a safe and productive environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, peers, and administrators.
- Assist the K-12 team with student check-in procedures.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current student at DigiPen Institute of Technology (rising sophomore or above).
- Proficiency in computer science, art and animation, game design, engineering, music and sound design, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks promptly and thoroughly.
- Skill in engaging students and fostering enthusiasm for learning.
- Willingness to undertake diverse responsibilities and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Eagerness for personal and professional growth.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- For Art and Animation applicants: a link to an art portfolio in your resume.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. Classes are held at DigiPen Institute of Technology or Lake Washington High School.
- Term: Summer 2026 (available between June 15th and July 24th).
- Modality: On-site, with hybrid positions available for the Pre-College Program only.
- Requirements: Must reside within the State of Washington. Cannot be enrolled in Summer semester classes while employed. Must be available for the full duration of the program hours, typically between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm.
