About the role#
The Library Assistant position provides support for library operations and student services at DigiPen Institute of Technology. This role is open exclusively to students eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS) with an accepted award. The position requires previous experience working in the DigiPen Library.
What you'll do#
- Assist students in accessing information and equipment.
- Manage library circulation by checking items in and out.
- Open and close the library facility.
- Support new item acquisitions, cataloguing, interlibrary loans, and test proctoring.
- Collect library usage data and maintain an orderly space.
- Process cash and credit card payments.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of library equipment and facilities.
- Explain library and Makerspace policies, rules of conduct, and usage guidelines to patrons.
- Participate in special library projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Eligibility for Federal Work Study with an accepted FWS award.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and good academic standing.
- Strong attention to detail to manage procedures and equipment handling accurately.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a sincere desire to assist others.
- Interest in working with Makers and using Makerspace equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs, stooping, and kneeling.
- Fine motor dexterity for equipment handling.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 24, 2026 – April 23, 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Hours: Maximum of 20 hours per week; evening and weekend shifts may be required.
- Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, based on terms worked at DigiPen.
- Note: Students may not work during scheduled class times. Remote work outside of Washington is not permitted.
