About the role#

This Teaching Assistant position supports the PHY-200L course instructed by Anand Thirumalai during the Summer 2026 term. The role involves assisting the instructor with classroom operations, lab supervision, and student assessment. TAs are expected to maintain consistent communication with the instructor and provide academic support to students.

What you'll do#

• Guide students through experiment setups during lab sessions.
• Supervise and advise students during labs.
• Answer student questions during class and lab hours.
• Grade lab reports based on provided guidelines and upload results to Moodle.
• Provide constructive feedback to students on their work.
• Assist with general classroom tasks as requested by the instructor.

What you'll need#

• Must be a currently matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
• Maintain good academic standing and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Have successfully completed PHY-200 and PHY-200L with a grade of B or better.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, stooping, and kneeling.

Location & details#

• Location: On-site in Redmond, Washington.
• Term: May 4, 2026 – July 31, 2026.
• Hours: 4 - 6 hours per week.
• Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, based on previous terms worked at DigiPen.
• Note: Student workers must reside within the state of Washington. Working is not permitted during scheduled class times.
