About the role#
This position is for a Student Teaching Assistant for the FLM-115 History of Film & Animation course during the Fall 2026 term. The role involves supporting the instructor with classroom operations, student guidance, and technical setup. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen Institute of Technology and reside within the State of Washington.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom by providing guidance and feedback to students.
- Perform light grading and attendance taking.
- Manage the weekly library checkout of video materials for class use.
- Provide technical support for classroom equipment, including Windows, Teams, audio and video projection, and microphones.
- Facilitate Friday evening film screenings if sufficient student interest exists.
- Monitor and report any equipment or lab-related issues.
- Track and report hours worked.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at DigiPen Institute of Technology with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Completion of FLM-115 with a grade of B or better.
- Strong narrative instincts to help students analyze and comprehend storytelling techniques.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the instructor and students.
- Reliability in fulfilling all duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: September 1, 2026, to December 1, 2026.
- Hours: 3 to 5 hours per week.
- Schedule: Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., with potential Friday evening hours from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on the number of terms worked at DigiPen.
