DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Summer 2026 term to support the DES-214 Level Methods course. This position involves assisting the instructor with classroom operations, facilitating student learning, and maintaining consistent grading standards. This is a paid, part-time, on-site role requiring a commitment of 4 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist students in labs and during published office hours.
- Grade weekly assignments and projects according to provided guidelines.
- Provide constructive, clear, and timely feedback on student work.
- Support the instructor with classroom tasks, such as equipment setup, managing slide decks, and facilitating presentations.
- Meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty coordination.
- Track and report hours worked accurately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Completion of DES-214 or the combination of DES-240 and CS-176 with a grade of B or better.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and good academic standing.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the course material.
- Ability to act as a mentor and interact with students on an instructional level.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to help others succeed.
- Availability to hold office hours outside of scheduled class times.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. Employees must reside within the State of Washington.
- Term: May 11, 2026 – July 24, 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.13 – $18.25 per hour, based on experience at the institution.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks requiring fine finger dexterity.
