Student Assistants in the Academic Support Lab provide drop-in tutoring for select 100 and 200 level courses under the supervision of the Director of the Learning Resource Center. This role serves as an additional resource to help students master course concepts and improve their academic performance. Tutoring takes place during the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate drop-in tutoring sessions to help students understand classroom concepts and develop effective learning strategies.
- Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, research, and academic papers.
- Review class syllabi, curricula, and assignments to support students in their assigned subject areas.
- Track questions and concepts tutored through routine documentation and practice.
- Coordinate with faculty regarding subject areas and student needs.
What you'll need#
- Must be an incoming sophomore, junior, or senior student in good academic standing at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better during employment.
- Earned a grade of 3.0 or better in the specific course(s) you wish to tutor.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate student leadership and a willingness to learn about campus resources and policies.
- Provide at least one faculty reference from DigiPen (to be listed on your resume).
- Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 18 – July 24, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Availability: 4–10 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.13 – $18.25 per hour, based on prior terms worked at DigiPen.
