About the role#
The Bytes team is seeking an Advanced Cook to assist with culinary operations. This role involves preparing food, managing kitchen stations, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The position runs from March 16 to August 28, 2026, for up to 20 hours per week. Weekend availability is required, including support for specific events on April 4 and May 16, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in operating multiple kitchen stations, including grill, sauté, and fryer, during service.
- Support menu preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
- Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current, matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- At least 1 year of professional cooking experience.
- Good Academic Standing and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to cook multiple items simultaneously and follow standardized recipes.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Wage: $22.50 per hour.
- Perks: Uniform (including non-slip shoes) and one meal per shift are provided; the cost of a Food Handler’s permit is covered by the institution.
- Note: Students must reside within the State of Washington and are not permitted to work during scheduled class times.
