    About the role#

    The Food Pantry Student Assistant supports the daily operations of the Nest of Necessities. This position is open exclusively to current DigiPen students who have been awarded Federal Work Study for the 2025-2026 academic year. The role requires on-site work in Redmond, Washington, and involves managing inventory, maintaining food safety standards, and promoting pantry resources to the student body.

    What you'll do#

    • Track and maintain accurate records of pantry stock and report low-inventory items.
    • Regularly check expiration dates, rotate stock, and dispose of damaged or expired goods.
    • Keep shelves, storage areas, and workspaces clean, orderly, and properly labeled.
    • Refill shelves and distribution areas to ensure consistent availability of items.
    • Create and distribute informational and educational materials regarding food security and pantry services.
    • Assist with donation drives, outreach efforts, and special events as needed.

    What you'll need#

    • Must be a currently enrolled student at DigiPen Institute of Technology in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
    • Must have accepted Federal Work Study eligibility based on the 25-26 FAFSA.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
    • Physical ability to lift and move boxes of inventory weighing up to 30 pounds.
    • Preferred background includes experience in inventory, retail, or food service, and an interest in community service.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Redmond, Washington.
    • Term: Summer 2026 (April 24 – May 31, 2026).
    • Schedule: Flexible hours Monday through Friday mornings, up to 20 hours per week. Students may not work during scheduled class times.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
