As a Manufacturing Test Engineering Intern, you will help design, develop, and maintain test systems that ensure robotic products meet manufacturing and quality standards. You will work with cross-functional teams, including hardware design, controls, and quality, to improve test coverage, optimize workflows, and support production operations. This role involves hands-on experience with robotics hardware, electronics testing, data acquisition, and system validation.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, implementation, and validation of automated and manual test systems for robotic systems and subsystems.
- Develop and maintain hardware and software tools for production testing.
- Perform root cause analysis on test failures and collaborate with engineering teams to drive corrective actions.
- Document test procedures, configuration, and calibration steps.
- Support the deployment and troubleshooting of test stations on the production floor.
- Train personnel on system-level testing and the operation of automated testers.
- Collect, analyze, and report test data to track manufacturing performance metrics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Understanding of electronics fundamentals, test instrumentation equipment, and debugging practices.
- Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Structured Text, Ladder Logic, or Function Block Diagrams.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems, sensors, or embedded systems testing.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical hardware bring-up, fixture design, or test automation is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
