About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Gainesville, Virginia. This full-time, on-site internship provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while working alongside industry professionals.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on project experience by working on tasks similar to those handled by full-time staff.
- Develop technical skills through meaningful project assignments.
- Participate in professional development workshops, including career planning and self-assessment sessions.
- Collaborate with firm leaders on a summer-long group project focused on company strategy.
- Engage in networking opportunities with staff and senior leadership across the business.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of water quality modeling, wastewater modeling, and water quality regulatory issues.
- Knowledge of floodplain delineation, storm water management, and culvert and bridge hydraulics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
