About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in our Fairfax, Virginia office and provides the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects alongside a team of professionals.
What you'll do#
- Design simple and complex bridges, primarily utilizing steel and concrete.
- Work on various transportation-related structures, including retaining walls, culverts, and sign structures.
- Gain exposure to the development of contract plans.
- Prepare engineer's estimates and construction specifications.
- Perform construction support services.
- Participate in workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Experience using CADD software, with a preference for Microstation or AutoCAD.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
