About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time, paid internship focused on gaining hands-on project experience. You will work alongside professionals on steel and concrete bridges, as well as transportation structures like culverts, retaining walls, and sign structures.
What you'll do#
- Design simple and complex bridges and transportation structures using relevant software.
- Assist in the development of contract plans.
- Prepare engineer's estimates and construction specifications.
- Provide construction support services.
- Collaborate with a team of engineering professionals.
- Participate in workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in CADD, with a preference for Microstation experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- A desire to work in a team environment.
- Prior experience with PennDOT is helpful but not required.

- This position is based on-site in Mechanicsburg, PA.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
