Fall 2026 Fundraising Internship

About the role#

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) is seeking a Fundraising intern for the Fall 2026 term. This internship provides practical experience within the Fundraising and Events Department, supporting staff who work with Democratic Governors to raise funds for the organization. Interns will assist with donor research, event management, and administrative support.

What you'll do#

• Research current and prospective donors to draft memos for DGA staff and Democratic Governors.
• Manage and maintain databases for political contacts and contributions.
• Assist in the production and coordination of fundraising events for gubernatorial candidates.
• Prepare meeting materials for DGA staff and Governors.
• Support the team with various special projects and administrative tasks.

What you'll need#

• A strong commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party and an interest in current events and politics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent punctuality, attendance, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team.
• Preferred majors include Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or Public Health.

Location & details#

• This internship is based in Washington, DC, with a remote work modality and an option for interns in the DC area to use the office on a limited basis.
• This is a paid position with a program stipend of $4,000.
• The DGA can coordinate with academic institutions to facilitate course credit.
