About the role#
The Student Nurse Academy (SNA) at Deaconess Health System provides nursing students with hands-on hospital experience. This program is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice through a precepted environment. The Fall 2026 session runs from August 4th through October 25th.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced Registered Nurses to provide direct patient care.
- Gain real-world experience in a hospital setting.
- Build confidence and strengthen clinical skills through mentorship.
- Utilize clinical equipment and perform patient care procedures.
- Participate in flexible scheduling with day, evening, and night shifts available.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN nursing program (AACN, CCNE, or ACEN).
- Completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations.
- Active BLS certification.
- Unofficial transcript for submission.
Location & details#
- Locations: Marion, Illinois and Mount Vernon, Illinois.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $16–$19 per hour, with additional incentives for evening, night, and weekend shifts, plus potential performance-based bonuses.
