About the role#
This co-op or internship position offers students the chance to apply their classroom learning to a professional setting. You will gain industry experience in railroad equipment manufacturing while developing technical skills. This is a full-time, paid role based on-site in Dayton, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Create and revise engineering documentation including work instructions, process specifications, and engineering changes.
- Investigate routings and bills of materials.
- Identify and research process improvement opportunities.
- Support the production floor through cost improvement projects, 5S+ audits, and ERP updates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an engineering discipline, preferably Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organization, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and make decisions independently.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with time studies and technical writing is preferred.

- Location: Dayton, Ohio.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements: You will be required to stand, walk, reach, climb, and kneel. You must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. You will need to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses and steel-toe shoes. You may face occasional exposure to noise and varying temperatures.
