About the role#
David Zwirner is seeking a Gallery Intern to support the Los Angeles team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with and learn from various departments, including front-of-house, sales, registration, marketing, and operations. This is a paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to greet visitors with professionalism and warmth.
- Field and direct incoming phone calls.
- Maintain general office and kitchen supply inventories.
- Manage the shipping, receiving, and distribution of mail and packages.
- Ensure the pristine appearance of work stations.
- Support the sales team by preparing and updating printed materials.
- Assist with data entry and data review projects.
- Aid in the assembly of materials for exhibitions.
- Provide support for public and private on-site events and exhibition openings.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
What you'll need#
- An interest in contemporary art and the gallery’s program.
- A willingness to learn about the contemporary art market.
- Ability to work well with a team and maintain a positive, helpful attitude.
- Highly personable, focused, and hardworking nature.
- Ability to exercise diligence, discretion, and strong time management skills.
- Educational background in Art, Graphic Design, or Media Studies is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Term: Summer 2026 (approximately six months, beginning mid-September and ending in late March).
- Schedule: 3–4 days per week from September through December; 5 days per week from January through March. The gallery operates Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with additional hours required for evening events.
- Compensation: Paid at the Los Angeles minimum wage of $18.42/hour.
