About the role#
D3 Embedded is looking for an Embedded Systems Design Co-op to work on full product development. You will take a product from the initial concept and architecture phase through hardware design and software development. Finally, you will help bring the product up for production testing. This role requires you to troubleshoot issues across both hardware and software systems.
What you'll do#
- Generate requirements and system architecture.
- Design board schematics and perform PCB layouts.
- Develop embedded firmware and software for your designs.
- Manage board bring-up and testing.
- Create technical documentation including requirements, architecture diagrams, detailed design docs, and bring-up reports.
- Assist with other engineering tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- Experience with block diagram tools like Visio, Draw.IO, or Lucid Chart.
- Experience with e-CAD tools such as OrCAD or Altium.
- Programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Exposure to Linux distributions like Ubuntu or Yocto and RTOS environments like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Exposure to embedded hardware platforms including nVIDIA Jetson or Raspberry Pi.

- This role is located in West Henrietta, New York.
- The position is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
