About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will gain exposure to company operations through departmental rotations, project work, and field-based activities. The program aims to help students explore potential career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations across departments, offices, and jobsites.
- Assist with research, reporting, and administrative projects.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to understand the homebuying and construction process.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and rotations to build your professional skillset.
- Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner.
- Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips, and work overtime when required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year university as a junior or senior, or recent graduation. Advanced degree candidates are also considered.
- Coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Operations Management, or Real Estate.
- Interest in learning about homebuilding, financial services, or land development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn new software.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and contribute in a professional environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to different work environments.
