About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within our homebuilding and business operations. You will gain exposure to the homebuying process while supporting a primary department through research, reporting, and administrative tasks. This program includes departmental rotations, jobsite observations, and training sessions to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations across various settings, including offices, field locations, and jobsites.
- Assist with department-specific projects, coordination efforts, and business systems.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how different areas support our business.
- Participate in meetings and training programs to build your professional knowledge.
- Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Coursework or a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn new software.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work overtime and travel, including occasional overnight trips.
