About the role#
The Sales Intern program provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding and homebuying process. You will be assigned to a primary department to gain exposure to company operations through project work, research, reporting, and administrative support. This role involves participating in training programs, departmental rotations, and field-based activities to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations at your assigned office, division, or jobsite.
- Assist with department-specific projects, coordination efforts, and business processes.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how different areas support the customer experience.
- Participate in meetings and learning opportunities to enhance your knowledge of the company.
- Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner.
- Work overtime or travel, including occasional overnight trips, if business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduation.
- Coursework or a degree related to Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Operations Management, or Real Estate.
- A strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to different work environments, including office and field settings.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree will be considered.
