About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will be assigned to a primary department to gain exposure to business operations, project work, and the homebuying process. The program includes rotations, research, and administrative tasks to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in the office, field, or jobsite.
- Assist with projects, reporting, and coordination efforts.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Ability to work overtime and travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree are also eligible.

- Term: Summer 2027.
