About the role#
The Land Intern program provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will work with a primary department to gain exposure to business operations, land development, and administrative processes. This internship includes office and field-based activities, project work, and jobsite observations to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations across departments, offices, or jobsites.
- Assist with research, reporting, and administrative coordination.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand business systems.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Work overtime and travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduation.
- Coursework or a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Operations Management, or Real Estate.
- Demonstrated interest in land development or homebuilding.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt to different work environments.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree are also eligible to apply.
