Land Intern

About the role#

The Land Intern program provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will work with a primary department to gain exposure to business operations, land development, and administrative processes. This internship includes office and field-based activities, project work, and jobsite observations to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.

What you'll do#

• Support daily operations across departments, offices, or jobsites.
• Assist with research, reporting, and administrative coordination.
• Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand business systems.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations.
• Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
• Work overtime and travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduation.
• Coursework or a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Operations Management, or Real Estate.
• Demonstrated interest in land development or homebuilding.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to adapt to different work environments.
• Candidates pursuing an advanced degree are also eligible to apply.
