Land Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the land department at D.R. Horton. You will learn about the homebuilding and land development process through project work, research, and daily administrative support. The program includes office and field-based activities, jobsite observation, and departmental rotations to help you explore career paths within the company.

What you'll do#

• Support daily operations across the division, office, and field locations.
• Assist with research, reporting, and coordination of business processes.
• Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to understand how different departments support business operations.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, and rotations to build your professional knowledge.
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner.
• Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips, and work overtime when required.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduation.
• Pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
• Interest in learning about careers in land development, homebuilding, or corporate operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and adapt to different work environments.
• Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.

• Term: Summer 2027.
• Status: Full-time, paid internship.
