About the role#
The Land Intern program provides students with hands-on experience in the homebuilding and homebuying process. You will gain exposure to professional development and career paths within D.R. Horton. Interns work on a primary team while participating in departmental rotations, research, and project work. This role involves office and field-based activities to help you understand how different business functions support our operations.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations within your assigned department, office, or jobsite.
- Assist with projects, reporting, and administrative coordination.
- Learn company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in training programs and meetings to build your industry knowledge.
- Explore full-time career opportunities within the company.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Work overtime or travel for business needs as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduate status.
- Coursework or a degree related to business, finance, real estate, human resources, marketing, communications, operations, or other relevant fields.
- Interest in learning about homebuilding, land development, and corporate operations.
- Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and contribute to a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Adaptability to different work environments, including office and field settings.
- Advanced degree candidates may also be considered.

- Location: Edmond, Oklahoma.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Modality: On-site, remote, or hybrid depending on the assignment.
