About the role#
The Land Intern program provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will gain exposure to daily operations through project work, research, reporting, and departmental rotations. This internship is designed to introduce you to career paths within D.R. Horton and its affiliated businesses.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations across departments, offices, or jobsites.
- Assist with administrative tasks, coordination efforts, and business systems.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in training programs and meetings to build your professional knowledge.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Travel as needed, which may include occasional overnight trips.
- Work overtime when business requirements demand it.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university as an incoming junior or senior, or recent graduation.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Interest in learning about homebuilding, land development, or corporate operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn new software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to take initiative and ask questions.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.
