Land Intern

About the role#

The Land Intern program provides students with hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will work within a primary department to gain exposure to business operations through project work, research, administrative support, and jobsite observation. This position is designed to help you explore potential career paths at D.R. Horton.

What you'll do#

• Support daily operations in the office, field, or jobsite.
• Assist with department-specific projects, reporting, and coordination tasks.
• Learn industry terminology, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how different areas support the business.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations.
• Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner.
• Travel as business needs require, including occasional overnight trips.
• Work overtime when necessary.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate. Students pursuing advanced degrees may also be considered.
• Coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
• A strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a professional team setting.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn new software or systems.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to adapt to varying work environments.

• Term: Summer 2027.
• Modality: This role supports on-site, hybrid, and remote work arrangements depending on the assignment.
• Status: Full-time and paid internship.
