About the role#
This Summer 2027 internship provides hands-on experience within the homebuilding industry. You will work with a primary department to gain exposure to our business operations, including project work, research, and administrative support. The program includes departmental rotations, jobsite observation, and training sessions to help you explore potential career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations across departments, field locations, or jobsites.
- Assist with research, reporting, and various administrative tasks.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups to understand our business processes.
- Participate in meetings and training programs to build your professional knowledge.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Work overtime and travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Interest in learning about homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt to different work environments, including offices and jobsites.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.
