About the role#
This Summer 2027 internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will be assigned to a primary department or functional area to gain exposure to daily operations, research, and project work. The program includes departmental rotations, office and field-based activities, jobsite observation, and training sessions to help you explore potential career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in your assigned division, office, or jobsite.
- Assist with projects, reporting, administrative tasks, and coordination efforts.
- Learn industry terminology, business systems, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand the homebuilding and homebuying process.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and rotations.
- Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner.
- Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips, and work overtime when required.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university and entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, or Communications.
- Interest in learning about homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree are also encouraged to apply.
