About the role#
The Construction Intern program offers hands-on experience in the homebuilding process. You will work within a primary department or functional area to gain exposure to professional operations. The program includes departmental rotations, project work, and jobsite observations to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in the office or at a jobsite.
- Assist with projects, research, reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members across different departments.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and rotations.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
- Work overtime when business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduation.
- Degree pursuit in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Interest in learning about homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and ask questions.
- Adaptability to different work environments, including field and office settings.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may be considered.
