About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding process. You will work within a primary department to gain exposure to daily operations through project work, research, reporting, and field-based activities. The program includes departmental rotations and training to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in the office, field, or jobsite.
- Assist with administrative tasks, coordination, and business processes.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in training programs and departmental meetings.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
- Work overtime when required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university as a junior or senior, or recent graduation.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, or Communications.
- Interest in homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Willingness to take initiative and ask questions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates pursuing advanced degrees may be considered.

- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, remote, or hybrid depending on the assignment.
- Status: Full-time and paid internship.
