Construction Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding process. You will be assigned to a primary department or functional area to gain practical exposure through project work, research, and administrative support. The program includes departmental rotations, jobsite observation, and training opportunities to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.

What you'll do#

• Support daily operations at an assigned office, field location, or jobsite.
• Assist with projects, reporting, and coordination of business systems.
• Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with team members across different departments to understand how the business functions.
• Participate in meetings and training programs to build your professional skills.
• Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
• Work overtime and travel as business needs require, including occasional overnight trips.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
• Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
• Interest in homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Initiative to ask questions and work in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to different work settings, including office and field locations.
• Candidates pursuing an advanced degree are also eligible.

• Location: Orlando, Florida.
• Term: Summer 2027.
• Modality: This role supports on-site, remote, and hybrid work depending on the assignment.
