About the role#
This position is based at the CVS Specialty Pharmacy in Fairfield, New Jersey. You will work directly with pharmacists and technician staff to gain practical experience as you progress toward your pharmacy career. All tasks are performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Fill prescription orders for dispensing.
- Review and enter prescriptions into the system.
- Contact doctor offices to obtain verbal prescriptions or clarify information.
- Transfer prescriptions from other pharmacies.
- Counsel patients regarding their medications and health conditions.
- Assist with clinical projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Active Pharmacy Technician License in the state of New Jersey.
- Current enrollment in a School of Pharmacy or graduation from an international pharmacy school requiring certification of pharmacy practice experience.
- You must not be on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- One year of experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist intern is preferred.

- Compensation: $16.00 to $42.35 per hour, depending on year in pharmacy school, geography, and other relevant factors.
