About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world pharmacy practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position by immersing you in daily store operations. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of your graduation. You will assist the pharmacy team in maintaining high standards for patient safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Apply your pharmacy school learning to daily clinical and operational tasks.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Support pharmacy workflow across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Coach and train pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Manage basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts and processing returns.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, including privacy and controlled substance regulations.
- Deliver patient health care services like immunizations, which includes educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Travel to various store locations within the market to support business needs.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
